How do I choose a psychic reader? |
|
The word "psychic" covers a wide range of clairvoyant gifts. When choosing a reader we recommend you review all the readers in your area and use your own gift of intuition to narrow down your choices to those readers that "resonate" with you. Call them, ask more about what they offer, what to expect, and what times they are available. Don't be afraid to ask questions. A good reader will never make you feel stupid, rushed, or brush off your questions.

What can I expect from a psychic reading? |
|
Each psychic will be different - some use methods of divination like tarot cards or rune stones, some use palmistry, some will ask to hold an object of importance to you, relying on touch, and some tap into guidance directly from their third eye using no tools. And some use a variety of these methods to give a reading. Some will meditate to reach their state of communication while others will perform rituals. We recommend relaxing during your reading, taking deep breaths, and if you don't understand what your reader is doing, ask. Nothing should make you feel uncomfortable.
It should also be understood before the reading how much time you are receiving and what questions will be answered, or what information will be covered.

What should I be wary of? |
|
Most importantly - trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable, then walk away. However, there are times when we are emotionally vunerable and a savvy con artist can take advantage of that by making promises of aid. Usually for an additional fee! There is nothing wrong with affirmations and healing arts, but be wary of exorbitant "suggested donations" for these offers of assistance.

What should a reading cost? |
|
Reading rates vary as much as readers and each one sets their own price. Just like any other expense, you should shop around and compare. Your deciding factor should be the reader itself as well as your rapport, but ensure you are not paying more than you feel is fair. Usually psychics charge much less at fairs - often $1 a minute and provide shorter 10-15 minute readings. This is a great way to "try out" psychics to find a good fit for you.
Tips are almost always welcome and appreciated when you feel you've received particularly helpful guidance.

What can I do at a psychic fair? |
|
Psychic fairs and public events are a fun way to spend a day. They vary from small events put on by the local metaphysical shop to large events at hotels and even larger venues. Most are free but some larger ones will charge a small admission fee. At some you will pay the readers directly (be sure to bring cash and a checkbook - not all are set up to take credit cards) and at some you'll buy tickets worth a certain amount of time that you can then use with all the readers present).
In addition to readings there will often be vendors selling metaphysical wares like crystals, jewelry and supplies like tarot cards and book to guide you if you choose to try your own hand at divination. Massage therapists providing chair massages are popular and sometimes there will be entertainment and free or low-cost workshops you can attend.
